Anna Maria Island

Why Night Shelling & snorkeling in Anna Maria Island

Most shelling happens at sunrise — but the real magic happens after dark. Nighttime brings out species you’ll never see during the day. Our guided pods use bright LED lighting to reveal a glowing underwater world most visitors to Anna MAria ISland never get to experience.

What’s Included

  • FREE Aqua socks
  • Glow sticks
  • Safety noodles
  • Whistles
  • Collection bags
  • a 10,000-lumen LED light pod per group

Our Shelling Policy

We believe in protecting marine life. Only empty shells may be kept — any living creature you find (crabs, seahorses, fish, hermit crabs, etc.) is gently observed and then returned to the sea.

THE EXPERIENCE

Our guided tours take small groups into the shallow, calm waters just off Anna Maria ISland, Florida. Each booked group shares a powerful 10,000-lumen LED light pod that illuminates the sea floor, revealing shells and sea creatures that are nearly invisible in daylight.

How it works:

Who It’s For

  • Families with kids
  • Couples looking for a unique date-night activity
  • Snorkeling beginners — no experience necessary
  • Shell collectors chasing rare night finds
  • Anyone who loves the ocean and wants to see it differently

What You Might Find

Night tours regularly turn up sand dollars, whelks, conchs, scallops, and other shells left behind by the tide — plus sightings of seahorses, crabs, small fish, and other shallow-water sea life drawn out by the dark.
